Summer becomes Fall
The harvest season is upon us.
In Ontario we are seeing the end of the fruits of summer, and the beginning of the bumper crop season of late harvest food. I love the Fall for many reasons. The colours, the cooler weather and of course the availability of fresh food. Many of my favorite dishes are created during this time. Last night for example;
while helping a friend out on a project in his new home, he prepared a braised pork shoulder with potato salad, yellow beans and caramelized apples. This is that first taste of late harvest bounty. Nice!
